Jared Harris ~ 2014 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship

Congratulations to Ph.D. student Jared Harris (Carter Group) who has been awarded the prestigious 2014 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship!  The Graduate Research Fellowship program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based master's and doctoral degrees at accredited US institutions.

Jared was one of 2,000 students selected for the Fellowship this year out of over 14,000 applications.  His proposal titled, “Dually Dopable Conjugated Polymeric Networks via UV Initiated Processes”, will focus on the utilization of benzimidazoles (BI) in conjugated polymers (CP) to develop fundamentally novel polymeric electronic devices. This work will enable the precise patterning of p- and n-doped regions in a singular device from one parent polymer.
