Earlier this year, Chris was awarded the 2019-2020 Lipp Foundation Fellowship in Polymer Science & Engineering.

Before joining PSE, Chris completed his Bachelor’s in Chemistry at Juniata College and was employed for several years as a process chemist with Albany Molecular Research, Inc. (AMRI). During his undergrad he was selected for an NSF-sponsored internship in PSE, and this experience weighed heavily in his decision to pursue a PhD. This past Fall he joined the Emrick Research Group. He is actively researching the design of novel conjugates between polymers and 2D materials as well as new chemistries for the commercial production of fire-safe polymers.
