The design and synthesis of high performance polymers, especially as they impact advanced optical and electronic applications. Our group combines skills in synthetic polymer chemistry, surface modification, advanced manufacturing techniques, high resolution patterning and device fabrication & characterization, concentrating on optically and electrically active polymers, nanoscience and nanotechnology. Specific research programs include the synthesis and design of electroactive polymers for OLED, FET and PV applications; controlled surface functionalization of nanopatterned polymer surfaces; inorganic/organic hybrid devices, bioactive surfaces and sensors.
