Translocation of an Incompressible Vesicle through a Pore

An article by Hamid R. Shojaei and M. Muthukumar, published in J. Phys. Chem. B.

Muthukumar's group studied the passage of a vesicle through a smaller pore, taking into account its deformation and friction. By deriving the associated free energy landscape, they explore the nontrivial roles of pressure, membrane elasticity, and pore geometry in determining mean passage time.
