Hyunki Kim*, Subramanian Sundaram, Ji-Hwan Kang, Nabila Tanjeem, Todd Emrick*, and Ryan Hayward* recently published a paper, titled Coupled Oscillation and Spinning of Photothermal Particles in Marangoni Optical Traps, in PNAS. This paper describes a materials system in which individual components interact with each other to form various coupling patterns at an air-water interface. This result may provide a useful experimental platform for further studying complex oscillatory networks and active matters.
