HIP Materials Lab: Harnessing Interfacial Phenomena to Design New Soft Materials

The HIP Materials Lab aims to develop new strategies merging interfacial assembly and polymer synthesis for designing hierarchical composites. Our strategies exploit fluid interfaces to leverage trapped states of colloidal assemblies and dynamic polymer growth via chemical vapor deposition. The outlook of our research is to establish design rules for bottom-up processing of soft composites to meet design requirements in sensing, separations, and biomedical technologies.
