RESEARCH EXPERIENCES FOR UNDERGRADUATES (REU) With the sponsorship of the National Science Foundation's Research Experience of Undergraduates (REU) program the Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) on Polymers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst offers to qualifying undergraduates interested in obtaining research experience in polymer science and engineering the opportunity to join a faculty-supervised research laboratory in the UMass MRSEC for a ten-week period during the summer of each. The stipend for this program is $3,500 inclusive. In addition to their research responsibilities, REU participants will attend regular weekly meetings and special seminars throughout the summer. Participants are required to write a final report at the completion of the program as well as give an oral presentation. APPLICATION PROCESS and ELIGIBILITY: Undergraduate student participants supported with NSF funds must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States or its possessions.
