The Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst hosted middle and high school teachers for the summer RET program.
Up to six teachers were selected to participate in research at the Silvio O. Conte Center for Polymer Research. Participants gained experience under the guidance of an established research group by investigating a topic from a broad spectrum in chemistry, physics or engineering of polymers. Examples of projects under consideration are: nanomembranes, crystallization in confined geometries, sensors, and polymer deformation. Please visit the Research Groups page for information on MRSEC funded research, the principal investigators involved, and areas of research for RETs.
