Program dedicated to exploring art and science
An interdisciplinary curriculum designed to encourage students, whether they are science- or art-inspired, to become future innovators in all career fields. K-12 Students participate in an age appropriate polymer materials program with both natural and synthetic polymers. Students utilize images from MRSEC research developed for the VISUAL program to explore both Art and Science. Program occurs at the student’s school with guidance from MRSEC Researchers. Special Event: Saturday Oct 1, 2011 a free workshop will be led by Teri Magner, Art Teacher at Fort River Elementary, who developed the curriculum and implemented this program in her art classroom. Participants will receive copies of 10 units of K-12 Polymerge curriculum, hands-on experience with the activities, and 3 professional development points.
