The Polymer Science and Engineering Department is searching for a Research Associate Professor A/Director (non tenure-track, calendar year) for the Center for University of Massachusetts Industry Research on Polymers (CUMIRP).  CUMIRP was established in 1980 with the mission of promoting and coordinating polymer research collaborations between the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and industry/government.  More information can be found at www.pse.umass.edu/cumirp/

The Director’s chief responsibility is to manage CUMIRP in such a manner that new and continuing funds for polymer research are developed from industry and government sources; for the latter, efforts are directed at industry-related opportunities.  Candidates should possess an advanced degree in a polymer-related science or engineering discipline and significant technical knowledge in the polymer field. The Director reports to a steering committee and is responsible for managing all Center activities.
